Kagudi Bhel Pass, situated at an altitude of 4,750 meters, is a high Himalayan ridge pass in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. This challenging trek connects the Ramganga Valley to the Johar Valley, offering a remote and rugged trail through the pristine landscapes of the upper Himalayas.

Trek Route: Gogina Village – Namik – Thal Top – Ranthan Kharak Top – Sudamkham – Runa Bugyal – Kagudi Bhel Pass – Rakshas Thal – Poting Glacier – Bagudiyar – Lilam – Munsiyari

Day 01 :

Kathgodam to Gogina (Drive – 8-9 Hrs | 2,600m)

The journey begins early morning from Kathgodam Railway Station at 6:30 AM with a shared Bolero ride towards Gogina Village in the Bageshwar district. The scenic drive of 8-9 hours passes through beautiful landscapes, dense forests, and quaint villages.

Upon arrival in the evening, the trek leader will welcome the group and escort them to a homestay or campsite for an overnight stay.

After dinner, a briefing session will be conducted to prepare trekkers for the upcoming challenges and terrain.

Day 02 :

Gogina to Namik Village (Trek – 4 Km | 2,900m)

A late morning start allows trekkers to rejuvenate after the long road journey. The 4 km trek to Namik Village features a mix of gradual ascents and descents, with mesmerizing views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Trekkers will reach Namik campsite in time for a freshly cooked lunch and settle in for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 03 :

Namik Village to Thala Bugyal (Trek – 8 Km | 3,500m)

The trekking day begins early at 7 AM with packed lunch. The 8 km trek passes through dense forests, gushing mountain streams, and stunning alpine meadows.

The route gradually ascends towards Thala Bugyal, a vast high-altitude meadow offering breathtaking Himalayan views. By early evening, trekkers will reach the campsite, where they will stay overnight and enjoy a warm dinner.

Day 04 :

Thala Bugyal to Sudamkham (Trek – 8 Km | 3,900m)

An early morning departure ensures trekkers can witness a spectacular sunrise from Chofu Top. The trail starts with a steep 2 km ascent to Thal Top, followed by a gradual ridge ascent towards Sudamkham.

This ridge offers 360-degree panoramic views, with Panchachuli, Khaliya Bugyal, Nandakot, and Kafni Glacier ranges in sight. Trekkers will reach the Sudamkham campsite by early evening, set up their tents, and rest for the night.

Day 05 :

Sudamkham to Kagudi Bhel Pass Base Camp (Trek – 10 Km | 4,300m)

This 10 km trek starts early morning with packed lunch. The trail traverses expansive meadows and pristine Himalayan landscapes, providing up-close views of Namik Glacier and Heeramani Glacier.

By late afternoon, the group will arrive at the Kagudi Bhel Pass Base Camp, where they will spend the night in tents and have dinner under a starlit sky.

Day 06 :

Base Camp to Kagudi Bhel Pass (4,750m) to Mohar Pani (Trek – 10 Km | 3,600m)

The day begins with a steep ascent of 4 km, crossing rocky boulders and challenging patches, where safety ropes might be required. Upon reaching Kagudi Bhel Pass (4,750m), trekkers can soak in the stunning Himalayan scenery before beginning the descent towards Mohar Pani (3,600m).

This steep descent demands caution and proper trekking techniques. Trekkers will reach Mohar Pani campsite by evening for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 07 :

Mohar Pani to Poting Glacier (Trek – 8 Km | 3,400m)

This section consists of a steep descent that requires careful navigation. The trek leader will guide the group through tricky patches to ensure safety.

By afternoon, trekkers will arrive at Poting Glacier campsite, where they can relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. Overnight stay and dinner at the campsite

Day 08 :

Poting to Bagudiyar (Trek – 8 Km | 2,500m) & Drive to Munsiyari (3 Hrs | 2,200m)

Another descending trail begins early in the morning, leading to Bagudiyar, a major checkpoint. Upon reaching Bagudiyar, a 3-hour drive to Munsiyari follows, where trekkers will check into a hotel for an evening of rest and exploration.

Day 09 :

Buffer Day

A buffer day is allocated to accommodate unforeseen weather conditions or trekking delays. If unused, trekkers can explore Munsiyari, known for its breathtaking views of Panchachuli peaks, vibrant culture, and local markets.

Day 10 :

Munsiyari to Kathgodam (Drive – 9-10 Hrs)

After an early breakfast, the return journey begins with a 9-10 hour drive from Munsiyari to Kathgodam. Trekkers will be dropped off at the railway station, marking the end of this adventurous expedition.
